Come and Say Hello

Writing is odd to most people.

Writing is odd to most people

I worked in an office 9, 10 or 11 hours a day for years and no one came to rescue me, ever! I sit in my comfortable writing den, putting together weird world with exotic inhabitants..... and people keep trying to rescue me. I must go to 'hotandsticky theme park,' or 'olddustyplay,' at the Young Vic. Neighbours feel it's their duty to save me from my interesting life and inflict their odious children on me...... aarrrggh :-)

Women who had given me up as ‘far too irritating,’ now tell me I simply must get out more, have I tried the Latvian Offal Cake at San Lorenzo? Like most people I have a few people I enjoy fussing over me, it gives me a warm glow. But when everyone and their aunt Bertha does it, it gets a bit much.

I don’t need rescuing! I’m a writer and I will sit in my writing den and write, the clue really is in the name of what I am. I don’t need a day at the zoo, or Latvian Offal Cake. I live mostly in my head and if you want to see what an amazing place that is……read my books, come to Mendera!

City of the Lost God Part 10 – The Guild of Sorcerers

6,001 Words – I did say I’d carry on writing this monthly serial as long as people thought it was worth reading and I’m pleased to say it gets a lot of regular readers. It is enormous fun to write and there are still other parts of the City we haven’t seen. The famous lanes area, the metal brokers, the farms just to the north…… they are for another day.

Muzzie and Lilleth have a few problems in part 10, but you just know that they’re hard enough and streetwise enough to come out of it more or less in one piece. But poor Caspian and Vella! They’re so wide eyed, so sweet, so perfect to throw into a world of unspeakable dangers!

Mendera Temple – Chapter 13 – Freedom Fighters

 6,957 words long.

After a nuclear detonation in Chapter 12, it seemed a good time to slow the pace down a little and see what some of the regular characters are doing. I hope you enjoy Chapter 13, it’s all about getting ready to leave the first section of the book. Soon we’ll be hurtling fifty million years into the future. But not quite yet. In Chapter 14 we’ll see Ixir being gradually overtaken by an ice age. I just hope the empire can save the population………….and Mo of course.
