Where is my writing going?! – September 2020

The nice thing about writing is that once you set a direction of travel, it lasts for a year or more. I never explain the books, or the reinvention of characters. To me it’s like trying to understand a cat by dissection. You might understand the inner working of the cat, but it dies in the process. I just write and hope people enjoy reading the results.

Ruby Books
Ruby III is being drawn to a close at the moment. There will be another Ruby book in the not too distant future. I’m already setting the seeds of future story arcs in Ruby III. There will be some reinvention of course. There’s no point in writing the same book many times over.

Vampire Books
Quid Pro Quo is over halfway finished. There will be another vampire book, though I can’t guarantee it will appear that quickly. I’m toying with the idea of going back over seven hundred years. To when Simon and Giovanni shared a house and were assassins for the Medici.

Ishmael
Ishmael II will start after Ruby III is finished. We’ll return to an Earth taken over by aliens. Can the remnants of humanity survive, or find a way of escaping a doomed planet? You’ll have to read it to find out.

Short Stories
I already have ‘Sorry Trudy,’ in the can, a special for Halloween. A local reporters looks into a suicide and strange goings on in Ipswich.
There will be a Christmas Special called ‘42Back,’ which I’m not telling you anything about. Apart from it being an Emma Hooper story set in New York.

There will be other things, there are always other things. I’m toying with bringing some of the ‘City of the Lost God,’ characters out of retirement. I may finally tell the story of how Muzzie became the last true Emperor of the rifts.
